Williams & Graham Takeover: Herbs & Rye v. Suffolk Arms

What: The epic eleventh installment of the series pits two esteemed cocktails bars to W&G to battle for your praises. The award-winning Las Vegas bar Herbs & Rye will take over the Occidental space while Suffolk Arms will operate in the W&G space.

Marc Vetri Takeover at Pizzeria Locale
When: Wednesday, August 2 from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Where: Locale Boulder, 1730 Pearl Street, Boulder
What: Marc Vetri, the acclaimed culinary mind behind Vetri Ristorante, Osteria, Amis, and Alla Spina, all located in Philadelphia, will briefly lead the Boulder kitchen this month. The Pizzeria Vetri menu will be available to order, a la carte.

Denver Burger Battle 2017
When: Thursday, August 3 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Where: Tivoli Quad, 1363 E 9th Avenue
What: Sixteen of Colorado's best burger bosses compete for culinary supremacy at the annual summer competition. Guests can sample a variety of creative hamburgers from Park Burger, Highland Tap & Burger, Concourse, and the Cherry Cricket. Chefs from each restaurant will compete for the People's Choice and Judge's' Choice trophies. Judges include entrepreneur Josh Wolkon, chef Elise Wiggins from Cattivella, Brian Dayton of Oak and Acorn, and Bradford Heap of Salt.
Additional Information: All of the event's proceeds benefit local charities. Tickets to the competition are available online and start at $69.99 for general admission tickets. Tickets for the 21+ event include unlimited bites and beer/wine.
Tim Hollingsworth Guest Chef Dinner
When: Wednesday, August 9 from 5 to 10:30 p.m.
Where: Frasca Food & Wine, 1738 Pearl Street, Boulder
What: Tim Hollingsworth, a culinary star in Los Angeles and chef at Otium, takes over the Boulder kitchen this month for a special dinner. The Frasca team will help the California chef prepare a tasting menu, exclusively available that evening.

Beer Brat Brawl
When: Sunday, August 6 from 12 to 5 p.m.
Where: Blue Moon Brewery, 3750 Chestnut Place
What: Beat the summer heat with the classic refresher of beer and brats at this month's collaborative Beer Brat Brawl. Local chefs like Cho77's Ryan Gorby and Ophelia's Dustin Beckner will compete against one another, each using Blue Moon beers and Tender Belly pork, to snag the "best brat" title.
Additional Information: Tickets include four beers, a sample of all five brats, a bacon tasting, and access to the pulled pork bar. $40 tickets can be purchased online or at Blue Moon Brewery on the day of the event.
Dahlia Campus Community Farm Dinner
When: Monday, August 14 at 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Dahlia Campus for Health and Well-Being, 3401 Eudora Street
What: The fundraising dinner, prepared by A Notte, harvests the bounty from the Dahlia campus to support Sprout City Farms food education and access programs. The four-course dinner will be accompanied by a signature cocktail from Laws Whiskey House and beer from Montucky Cold Snacks.

Incredible, Edible Gluten-Free Food Fair
When: Sunday, August 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: The Denver Mart, 451 E 58th Avenue
What: The eleventh annual Celiacs-friendly fair returns this month. Sensitive stomachs can sample gluten-free macarons, courtesy of honey B's macarons, and snacks from 100 gluten-free vendors. The festival will also offer family activities, gluten-free gift baskets, and deals on food.

Pizzeria Locale Farm Dinner at Oxford Gardens
When: Sunday, August 20 from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Where: Oxford Gardens, 10145 Oxford Road, Longmont
What: The Boulder pizzeria shepherds its chefs to Longmont for a collaborative farm-to-table dinner with Oxford Gardens. The family-style menu will feature grilled vegetables, seasonal pizzas, and roasted stone fruit for dessert. The dinner is BYOB.

Tasting Rome with Katie Parla
When: Tuesday, August 22 from 5 to 11 p.m.
Where: Coperta, 400 E 20th Avenue
What: Rome-based culinary educator and journalist Katie Parla gives guests a taste of Rome. Katie will prepare a four-course meal using recipes from her book, Tasting Rome: Fresh Flavors and Forgotten Recipes from an Ancient City, with local produce. Planned courses include spaghetti alla gricia and Roman-style tripe.

A Taste of Southern Mexico

What: The restaurant and food incubator hosts a cooking class centered around mole negro this month. Learn how to make the savory dish with the help of chef Marysola Menendez, originally from Chiapas, Mexico. Participants will also learn how to prepare a variety of tapas, sides, and appetizers in addition to the entree dish.
