The Birth of Saké, a film about saké-makers and what it takes to make world-class saké at Yoshida Brewery, will be at the center of a screening and saké tasting event next week. On April 12, the Denver Film Society and the Colorado Restaurant Association invites guests to learn more about the 144-year-old family-owned small brewery from northern Japan and enjoy some saké in the process.
The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with a saké tasting led by Denver's only saké brewer, Marc Hughes of Gaijin 24866. The movie screening will take place at 7 p.m. and it will be followed by a Q&A with Shelley Sale and Terry Renalde, both Certified Saké Professionals. A reception will follow in the Henderson's lounge with saké cocktails and Komotodo Sushi Burritos. Tickets to the 21+ only event cost $50 per person and can be purchased online.
