Ohana Kitchen, brainchild of husband-and-wife team Louie and Regan Colburn, is now open in LoHi. A to-go lunch business that serves Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a..m. to 2 p.m., Ohana Kitchen brings bright beautiful fun food with island flair to the Truffle Table side-window that once housed Tifamade Cantine.
Born in Japan and raised in Hawaii, Louie is an Air Force veteran who pursued a culinary education after service. He joined the team at the Truffle Cheese Shop after a stint at Snooze, where he realized that a high volume restaurant was not his cup of tea. Regan, who handles the front of the house part of the business, met her partner in Colorado Springs. She was most recently a full time nanny. The two have been married for eight years.
Ohana offers a small but charming menu with items like the Kalua pork bento box, the aloha kale entree salad, Hawaii sliders, and spam musubi. The Colburns are planning to run the shop until at least Halloween
