When it comes to unique brunch experiences, Departure scores high. The space is modern and attractive, the location in Cherry Creek highly sought after, and the menu, created by talented chef Gregory Gourdet charming and interesting. A dim sum cart option was just added to the lineup of reasons to visit the Portland-born restaurant that opened an outpost in Denver last summer.
There are some thirteen options to choose from on the cart that rolls through the sleep dining room. Point to what looks good when the cart comes by whether it is the now-iconic Departure wings, the pork and kimchi dumpling, or the five spice bun, a sweet combo of coconut, macadamia and sesame.
The rest of the brunch menu includes staple must-haves like the coconut flour pancakes and the Dungeness crab omelet, complemented by brunch-friendly beverages like bloody Marys and mimosas that get a unique twist from this team.
