It is the end of an era for breakfast lovers in Boulder: Marie's Café, an iconic family-owned restaurant located at 2660 Broadway Street closed its doors. The casual eatery opened by owner Dolly and her late husband 35 years ago offered "home cooked meals at affordable prices" serving three generations of customers. On Saturday, after serving guests one last time, Dolly bid farewell to her business and entered a well-deserved retirement.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Dolly shared the news with the eatery's customers.
Dear Marie's Cafe Customers,I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your loyal patronage for the past 34 years and to inform you that Saturday, November 30th will be our last day of business.
It has been my distinct pleasure to get to know all the wonderful families and friends that have come to dine at my restaurant over all these years, You have helped Marie's remain one of Boulder's most popular breakfast and lunch cafe's and we will miss serving you.
Now in my 35th year, I have decided it's time to go out on top and retire to enjoy the fruits of a very long and successful business career. It is to you I thank for this pleasure. Warm wishes for a wonderful holiday season and bright future.
Sincerely,
Dolly
