The newly constructed patio at perennially busy noodle spot Uncle is officially open, and those who've braved the waits at this hotspot know the 20 additional seats it provides are much needed. Built by Breton Lujan and Mike Blea of Raw Creative, all the pieces are custom-made from welded steel, Brazilian ipe wood, and formed concrete. There's also a long bench that serves as an additional waiting area, where people can enjoy a drink outside.
Also new to Uncle is Nate Hamel, who joined the kitchen team last week. Hamel most recently spent six years on the line at Fuel Cafe in RiNo's TAXI development.
