Durango Chef Faces Deportation

michel.jpgMichel Poumay, chef of the Chez Grand-mère’s in Durango, is currently being held at Denver Contract Detention Facility while his presence in the U.S. is under investigation. Poumay, originally from France, was taken into custody by immigration officials on a recent trip to Denver International Airport, though he has had no reported problems traveling since he moved to the U.S. in 1972. It is unclear how long he will be in custody. [The Durango Herald]
