Nobu Empire Spreads to Vail Village

In the words of blogger David Williams, "Vail has always had a bad case of Aspen envy," and this year for Christmas Vail got its own new shiny sushi restaurant. Matsuhisa Vail, a restaurant descendant of the great Nobu Matsuhisa, opened in the lobby of The Solaris Residences in Vail Village yesterday. The director of operations for Matsuhisa Aspen and Matsuhisa Vail told the Vail Daily that though 29 restaurants in the world belong to the Matsuhisa family only five (Vail included) have opened with the Matsuhisa name. Chef Matsuhisa is apparently living it up in Vail at this moment, so don't be surprised if you see him dusting everyone on the mountain.
