OTOTO to Close, Sushi Den to Acquire Pearl Street Grill

New, 1 comment

eater-denver-launch-top.jpgWell, the cat is out of the bag. Brace yourself for a big load of changes on Old South Pearl in 2012, because effective on Sunday, January 1, Sushi Den's neighbor and sister restaurant OTOTO will close and executive chef Darren Pusateri will part with the Den Corner restaurant group. And that's not all — It's about a done deal that Sushi Den's neighbor, Pearl Street Grill, which closed last night after 28 years of business, now belongs to Den Corner restaurant group. Brothers Toshi and Yasu Kizaki, who also own Izakaya Den across the street, are in final negotiations with Wynkoop/Breckenridge Holdings. It gets juicier too — There is speculation that Pearl Street Grill, slated to reopen as a new concept with a new name, may do so in one of the Den Corner restaurant spaces. Though details have not yet been released, there's definitely some serious Pearl Street shuffling in the works. Stay tuned...
