The youthful team that led the kitchen at Strings for the last year, Pippa and Ryan Taylor are moving on, reported the Denver Post yesterday. The Taylors want to travel the world and the staff at Strings bid them farewell with a party on Sunday night. Chef Ed Kent, who previously served in a dual capacity as executive chef at Strings and its sister restaurant, 240 Union, is returning back to run the stoves at Strings.
For its sweet sixteen birthday, 1515 Restaurant gave itself the gift of promoting Garren Teichas its new executive chef. Teich, who began cooking in Dresher, Pennsylvania, started at 1515 Restaurant over two years ago, working his way up to sous-chef. Four days ago, he accepted the executive chef position. Under his guidance, the restaurant will continue to serve approachable and innovative food with fresh, local ingredients. Among the projects Tang is involved in: pairing up with Metropolitan State University Denver for a molecular gastronomy class.
