Ace, the hot ping-pong hall and Asian-inspired eatery that opened Uptown earlier this year, was reviewed this week by Westword. Gretchen Kurtz dismissed the long waits on the ping-pong tables as an opportunity to enjoy some of the food prepared by chef Brandon Biederman. While the critic was not fond of the kale salad, which she called a wishy-washy tangle of partially cooked greens or the papaya salad and green beans, she recommended the steamed bao buns, the seasonal vegetables in scallion sauce, and the red curry beef. Sorely missing from this review: the cocktail program. [Westword]
