Denver Post restaurant critic William Porter took a look at the best bites of the year and shared his top 12 today. There is no particular theme except vibrant flavor. Dishes come from a variety of cuisines including Vietnamese, Salvadoran, and Indian, and range in restaurants from the Squeaky Bean to Vietnam Grill. Among the best, Porter noted the grits at the Universal, the cotija tacos at Pinche Tacos, and the kale and apple salad at Oak at Fourteenth (a recipe shared by Kris Browning-Blas in the Denver Post).
