Pizzeria Locale, the Boulder Neapolitan-pie restaurant owned by Bobby Stuckey and Lachlan MacKinnon-Patterson, has finally confirmed it's coming to Denver. Denver iteration of the successful concept will be located in the former Il Vicino space at 550 Broadway, a press release announced this morning. Stuckey and Patterson, who also own Frasca Food and Wine and the Frasca Caffe, have been looking for the perfect location for nearly two years, scouting neighborhood after neighborhood in Denver.
Stuckey talked to Eater earlier in the year about the Denver concept and insisted that the Mile High City location will be more casual. "When you have a meal at Pizzeria Locale in Boulder is that the pizzeria you grew up going to? Is that where your dad brought you after soccer? No. We have a reservationist and decant Barolo. In Denver we will do things different—it will be much more casual." In the 3,000-square-foot space that holds 70 seats right at the crossroads of Broadway and Sixth Avenue, the Boulder group plans to focus even more on pizzas, but complement the pie offerings with a handful of salads and sliced prosciutto.
The Denver location of Pizzeria Locale will open in the spring 2013.
