D Bar Desserts executive pastry chef and owner Keegan Gerhard talked to The Washington Times about opening a D Bar in San Diego, his reality TV career on The Food Network Challenge and why cupcakes suck. Gerhard says the San Diego D Bar, slated to open in April, will have a similar menu to the Denver location. He also says that if you're a pastry chef looking to go on TV, you need to ask yourself if you're really ready. Oh, and remember, "whether you succeed or fail, it’s still a compelling TV moment."
