Westword reports that chef James Mazzio is the new owner of Mise en Place cooking school at 18th and Wynkoop. Mazzio, who was named one of Food & Wine's Best New Chefs in 1999 during his time at Boulder's 15 Degrees (now closed), most recently worked at Brick Pony Pub in Basalt and the Edge in Carbondale. His plans for Mise en Place include changing the name to Studio F and opening Red Star Deli, a 40-seat restaurant where he'll serve breakfast and lunch. He'll also use the space to hold pop-up dinners in the future. [Westword]
