Here's a look inside Spuntino, which reopened on Monday at 2639 W. 32nd Avenue. Quickly earning a reputation for killer gelato and popsicles when it first opened 2011, under the ownership of Simone Parisi (who has since bowed out to focus on Parisi and Firenze a Tavola) and Dorina Miller, Spuntino now aims to earn a reputation as the ultimate locally-inspired Italian café. With a touched-up look, new menus and more amazing desserts and pastries, Spuntino is the shaping up to be the neighborhood spot Miller envisioned. With the help of chef/co-owners John Broening and Yasmin Lozada-Hissom (both of Duo and Olivéa), Spuntino has been serving lunch and light evening bites this past week, and they'll introduce a dinner menu starting next Monday.
For fans of Boxcar Coffee Roasters out of Boulder, Spuntino is one of the few Denver restaurants featuring their coffee. Spuntino is also a showroom for Denver's Infinite Monkey Theorem, offering wine on tap, in cans and by the bottle.
