Welcome to Shit People Steal, in which we ask restaurateurs what items in their restaurant have been (or are frequently) stolen.

Emily Biederman, one of the head honchos at Steuben's Food Service, tells Eater that the restaurant isn't a stranger to theft. "We go through 10-15 moscow mule mugs a week due to theft, even though we sell them. We have caught people with them in their pockets, purses and in their take out food bags. I even caught a 65+ year old couple stuffing them into take-out boxes with their leftover food."
And while the staff at Steuben's is used to seeing glassware disappear, this past weekend marked a rather usual theft. On Saturday night, a guest jacked a full-length "funny mirror" out of the ladies room. Biederman says that an unidentified woman took the carnival mirror (one of those mirrors that makes a person look skinny) off the bathroom wall and made off with it to her car. "One of the servers saw her in the parking lot with it, and when he yelled at her that it was ours, she made a break for it, shouting that she needed it for an art project." Oh, the shit people steal...
