Everyone digs a good patio, and paired with a decent special, what's not to love? Denver on a Spit writes that the $9 mussels and frites special at Bistro Vendôme is hard to beat. "This is one of our favorite meal-deals in all of Denver, and we try to go whenever we can, whether it is to sit on the idyllic patio, or in colder weather at the bar where the friendly barkeep is sure to entertain." The frites might be some of Denver's best as well. [DOAS]
The Village Cork will debut a new, killer brunch next weekend. According to Ruth Tobias of Denveater, chef Samir Mohammad's version of eggs benedict with truffled duck liver mousse totally works. It sounds like the brioche biscuits and duck sausage gravy is pretty darn delicious too. [Denveater]
In pizza reviews, Kathleen St. John of The A.V. Club writes that Naked Pizza, a Louisiana-based healthy pizza chain, is trendy indeed. "However, if you’re in the mood for a New York slice, you will be disappointed. The grease levels at Naked are insufficient, and the crust is too thick. Looking for the fatty, salty glory of deep dish? This might not be the pizza for you. It’s too clean and thin, like Jerry Seinfeld. If you’ve got to feed a crowd, the prices might be a little steep for the amount of food." [A.V. Club]
