Here's a bizarre video of The Squeaky Bean co-owner Johnny Ballen showing off the restaurant's construction process, complete with mime acting. Ballen, who's wearing a rather fabulous Squeaky Bean print suit with a pink ruffle shirt, reveals that the new 76-seat space will feature a bar that seats 17 people and an open kitchen with chef's counter seating. He also announces that the Squeaky Bean will reopen at the end of June.
According to an interview with Westword, Ballen, Squeaky Bean chef Max MacKissock and bartender Sean Kenyon of Williams & Graham are making the restaurant bigger and even more entertaining than before: "There will be a lot of visuals going on. We want to entertain people — to build the Casa Bonita for adults, but with great food."
