It was looking a little bleak over at Robert Thompson's Punch Bowl Social, but new signage indicates some progress. Thompson told Eater back in March that the ritzy bowling alley-meets-bar and eatery would open in June, citing asbestos problems and a complicated land purchase as setbacks. Thompson has since hired Denver bartending icon Anika Zappe as beverage director of PBS and his other projects, including Le Grande Bistro & Oyster Bar and the rebirth of Argyll. And in other news — atleast according to a Facebook update this afternoon — PBS will feature a total of eight bowling lanes, three bars, multiple felt tables for marbles and a number of ping pong tables. Keep your fingers crossed for that June opening, folks.
