VAIL—Chef Kelly Liken is hosting a three-night, four-day culinary trip by horseback from July 28 - August 2. And she'll be showcasing the food served on the trip—calling it the Cowboy Cookout Menu— at Restaurant Kelly Liken from now until August 4. CHERRY CREEK NORTH—The annual Cherry Creek North Food & Wine Festival returns to Denver on August 11 from 6 - 10 p.m. The festival takes place in Fillmore Plaza, costs $50 a head, and will feature tastes from a slew of operators, including Hillstone, Aria, and Hapa Sushi Grill. [The Denver Post]
FOOD TV— GSN (formerly known as the Game Show Network) is launching a new series called Beat the Chefs. It's not a chef version of Fight Club, rather it's a show in which "amateur home cooks pit their recipes and their cooking skills against professional chefs." Sigh. [Eater National]
