The Izakaya Den Scene, Thursday at 7 p.m.

Welcome to Eater Scenes, where Eater photographer Adam Larkey visits some of the city's great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the evening.

When brothers Toshi and Yasu Kazaki opened Izakaya Den across the street from their long-standing flagship restaurant Sushi Den, the idea was to Sushi Den fans another outlet for sushi cravings in addition to serving a tapas-style menu with global inspiration. While each restaurant pulls from the same outstanding fish supply, they're very different venues with vibes of their own. They may share a large customer base, but they've also attracted their own loyal followings, and within the year, the Kazaki brothers will move Izakaya Den across the street and next to Sushi Den to streamline their business. The space that currently houses Izakaya Den will be renovated into a new concept from Breckenridge and Wynkoop breweries (BW Holdings), and will likely take on a completely different look and feel. In the meantime, while the new Izakaya Den space is under construction, here's a look at Izakaya Den's Thursday night service.
