This is definitely the week to venture outside the morning usual — Ian Kleinman, chef and molecular magician of The Inventing Room has teamed up with Two River's Coffee out of Arvada to bring Denver its first molecular doughnut and coffee shop inside Table 6 restaurant. The "Doughnut & Coffee Shop 1.0" is something Kleinman has been scheming on for awhile, and as reported back in May, a concept that could one day (fingers crossed) evolve into an actual brick and mortar shop. Kleinman has created a menu of nine doughnut offerings, all of them imaginative and made à la minute, including Nitrogen Apple Pie and the Oink doughnut, which consists of maple pastry cream, bacon nutella powder and spicy house-cured bacon. There's also a small menu of whimsical coffee creations like liquid nitrogen mochas, coffee pop rocks and coffee space foam. And for coffee purists, Two Rivers has coffee blends from Novo Coffee and Corvus Coffee offered with the pour over method or in a French press. Note: Doughnut & Coffee Shop 1.0 isn't exactly grab-and-go, so budget time accordingly, and remember, it's only open until this Saturday, July 14th.
