UPTOWN— Thrillist reports that Strings (1700 Humboldt St.) "is injecting itself with some youth, ditching the white tablecloths, dressing down the servers, and hiring new chefs in their 20s who love The Hunger Games." Executive chef Pippa Taylor, who's 25-years-old, is also the subject of today's "Chef and Tell" on Cafe Society. [Thrillist]

BOULDER— Longmont-based Oskar Blues Brewery has dropped plans to open a brewpud in Boulder's historic train depot. Bye-bye beer train, for now. [Daily Camera]

COLORADO SPRINGS— Colorado Spring Independent critic Bryce Crawford has an appreciation for NJ Pizza Cafe (12 S. Tejon St.): "NJ Pizza Cafe's food is pretty good, surprisingly enough, and only made better by the fact you can pound it down at a sidewalk table while watching the young, beautiful and otherwise do their summer downtown thing, even at 1 in the morning."
