Event Wire— A topnotch crew of Denver chefs will represent Denver at Terra Madre, the Slow Food International conference in Torino, Italy on August 19th. Chefs include: Daniel Asher of Root Down and Linger, Bob Blair of Fuel Cafe, Jon Emanuel of Project Angel Heart, Jeff Osaka of Twelve Restaurant and Alex Seidel of Fruition Restaurant. BOULDER—Attention CU fans: West End Tavern will host tailgates and shuttle rides for the 2012 season. "Game day deals include $3 for Avery Joe’s Pilsner and Coors Light, $5 Buffalo Trace drinks, and a bunch of food specials. The shuttle, using the iconic Banjo Billy’s Bus, leaves for Folsom Field an hour before game time, and concludes an hour after the game." [Colorado Table]

EMPIRE— Cafe Society reports that Hard Rock Cafe is looking for new ownership. "That lease comes with a lot of history: The restaurant got its start in the '30s, serving food to hard-rock miners and other mountain folk at least forty years before the Hard Rock chain got its start in 1971." TELLURIDE— Nipple platter, anyone? 5280 reports that Siam restaurant features a nipple platter that can't be missed. "Yes, that's how it's written on the menu. The filling plate includes two crispy egg rolls filled with veggies and clear noodles; two crab rangoons with crab meat, cream cheese, and scallions wrapped in fried wontons; two chicken satay skewers; two tempura shrimp; and two crab-and-chicken dumplings that can be ordered fried or steamed."
