GABF WIRE— Cafe Society exchanged emails with the chap who posted his Great American Beer Festival ticket on ebay for $50,000. Why'd he do it? Of course it won't sell, but here's a piece of his reasoning: "I don't think GABF should be a more exclusive event. Leave it open, first come first serve..at least until I get screwed out of a ticket next year and this idealism goes out the window." [Cafe Society]
PLATTE ST. — From 4-7 p.m. this evening, Steve Kurowski of the Colorado Brewers Guild will bartend at Denver Beer Co. (1695 Platte St.) to promote SOCIAL (Supporter Of Colorado Indigenous Ale and Lager), a $25 club membership that includes beer swag and brewery discounts. [DOTW]
BRIGHTON— For anyone who's ever dined at Sushi Den or Izakaya Den on Old South Pearl and noticed a sprinkling of farm references on the menus, it's not just a marketing tool. Owners Toshi and Yasu Kizaki do indeed have a farm in Brighton (Den Farm), as blogger Boulder Locavore showcases with fresh photos. [BL]
