Bob Blair, chef and owner at Fuel Cafe, announced that he would open a new sandwich counter several months ago, but he had second thoughts about the name. Several ideas were circulated and tested out and with only a few weeks until opening, Blair shared that he finally settled on reFuel.
This will be a smaller version of Fuel Cafe and will be located in the Drive building at TAXI in a shared space with Boxcar Coffee. "re-Fuel will be a faster, less expensive version of Fuel. We plan to move our sandwiches and simple soups and salads to reFuel, and then slow things down a little bit at Fuel. We want to offer more lunch entrees at Fuel and a variety of other items like we do at dinner," Blair tells Eater.
