Chad Yakobson, owner and brewer at Crooked Stave, gets praised by Denver Post's Eric Gorski for unique experimentation and constant challenge to the status quo in the beer world. Yakobson, a twenty-eight year old artisan brewer is part scientist, with an actual science degree from Colorado State University and part brewer with experience heading the brewing at Odell and consulting at Funkwerks, both well-respected Fort Collins beer-makers. Crooked Stave now has a Denver location in the new German-style brewery Prost in the LoHi neighborhood. Next year, Yakobson anticipates a move in The Source, an artisan market set to open in an 1880s foundry building in the River North neighborhood. [DP]
