Top Chef is on Denver's brain since three local Colorado chefs, Jorel Pierce, Eliza Gavin, and Tyler Wiard have made it onto the cast of the Top Chef Seattle show starting on November 7. Before that show is on, two of the Top Chef Masters chefs - Hugh Acheson and Chris Cosentino will be visiting Colorado.
On Saturday, September 29, Hugh Acheson, judge on the Top Chef series (including the upcoming Seattle edition) and contestant on Top Chef Masters will coming to the Parker Arts Culture and Events Center as a guest in the Author Series of the Douglas County Library. Acheson will appear at 10 a.m. to judge a Top Chef-style competition that will include chefs from Indulge Wine Bar, Uniscali Modern Italian, and Old Blinking Light. The audience will have an opportunity to weigh in and enjoy a light breakfast/lunch. From 6 to 9 p.m., Acheson will give a talk on his new book and will sample the guests on appetizers from his cookbook. The winner of the latest Top Chef Masters edition, Chris Cosentino, received his title on Wednesday night and he is headed on a book and cooking tour that includes Colorado. Cosentino, the executive chef of Incanto in San Francisco will be joining the kitchen crew at Frasca Food and Wine on Wednesday, November 7 for a special dinner. The dinner comes with a $135 price tag for which the guest will get a four course meal and a signed copy of Cosentinto's new book Beginnings - My Way to Start a Meal.
