Chile & Frijoles Festival, in Pueblo, a three-day homage to the mirasol pepper, Pueblo's most popular variety of pepper. The festival runs all weekend September 28 through September 30 with times that vary in the Union Avenue, Pueblo location. More information at pueblochilefestivalinfo.com.

Oktoberfest at Lowry Beer Garden, Friday, September 28 through Sunday, September 30. This is an inaugural, three-day celebration that includes beer, brats and other German delicacies, live oompah music, authentic glass steins and chicken dancing. Festivities run today from 5 p.m. to midnight; Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight; and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. There is a suggested $2 donation for admission and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Denver Children's Home.

"Old World Meets New World" beer dinner at the Briarwood Inn, 1630 8th Street in Golden, featuring beers from 18-year-old Great Divide Brewery and England's Samuel Smith Brewery , one of the oldest in existence. Dinner is served at 7 p.m.

The Mile High 'Cue & Brew, an annual fundraiser for the Tennyson Center for Children will be hosted on Saturday at the Stampede, a popular country bar. The event will feature Lee Brice and Walker Williams, alongside barbecue from Jim 'N Nicks. Tickets are still available.
