August's Roll Call and Westminster's Southwestern Grill

It seems a new restaurant pops up in Denver by the day and it's true, the city's food-loving culture expanded significantly in August adding upwards of 25 restaurants/venues throughout Downtown and the metro area. While plenty of new spots like Ace and Prost Brewing made their mark immediately, other beloved Denver establishments closed their doors. Pagliacci's Italian restaurant, which had been in the LoHi neighborhood for over six decades, closed on August 19. Check out Westword's August Restaurant Roll Call for a listing of all open and shut cases in Denver's restaurant scene.

Meanwhile, this Thursday look for Kachina Southwestern Grill opening at the Westin Westminster. The restaurant, from the chefs behind the Corner Office and Second Home Kitchen + Bar, will focus on contemporary Southwestern cuisine like braised lamb tacos and fresh grilled corn on the cob. More to come about Kachina including a look inside the new restaurant, which used to be O's Steak and Seafood.
