Colt & Gray, the LoHi restaurant that features one of the best bar programs in Denver, launched brand new cocktail menu this week. Never mind that the names of these drinks are particularly entertaining onto themselves, ranging from Blue Steel to Ferrari, Essence of Wetness, and Orange Mocha Frappucino; these crafted cocktails entertain even more with unique flavors and effortless balance. To match the winter season, the new menu focuses on tea, chocolate, and bright winter citrus, and yes, lots of whisky. If you need to pick one, go with the Finger Jockey, a combination of Rittenhouse Rye, Lairds Bonded Apple Brandy, lemon, salted-peanut syrup, and mint.
Outside of the bar setting, some of Denver's top bartenders shared recipes with the Denver Post this week. There are choices for all palates and recipes from Randy Layman of ACE, Adam Hodak of Bonanno Concepts, and Bryan Dayton of Oak at Fourteenth, among others.
