Tonight, Kelly Liken Surfs and Turfs with Ben Sargent on the Cooking Channel

Tonight, chef Kelly Liken of Restaurant Kelly Liken in Vail, joins Hook Line & Dinner host Ben Sargent on a Colorado expedition along the Colorado River premiering on the Cooking Channel at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT).

The show is a Surf and Turf inspired expedition that highlights both Colorado's ranchers and farmers and the state's fly fishing potential. "This experience has touched on some of my favorite things in the world: fly fishing, preparing food for friends, and enjoying all the beauty the Colorado landscape has to offer," Liken said. "This show brings them all together beautifully," she added.

What else to expect from the show? Going down the Colorado River with fly-fisher guide John Packer, Liken demonstrating her signature trout for a camp side meal for Ben Sargent, a visit to the Luark Quarter Circle L Ranch, a family operated ranch, overseen by husband and wife Mike and Ann Luark, and a lesson in cooking up a Rocky Mountain-inspired meal.

Liken was among the last four chefs on Top Chef Season 7 and she is no stranger to the cameras. "Filming is always a daunting task," she admitted. "Somehow it was so much easier with the beautiful rivers edge as the backdrop," she added.
