Gerard Strong has been tapped by Central Bistro and Bar to serve as executive chef, a promotion from his previous sous-chef duties. The position became available last week when chef Lance Barto parted ways with Central after a six month collaboration.
Strong, a native of New York, graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 2007 and has cooked in several kitchens from New York City's Union Pacific to Seattle's Flying Fish, and Denver's own Z Cuisine. Strong and his right hand man, Jason Clark, a line-cook now serving as sous-chef, have been at Central Bistro and Bar since day one.
