Three days into the government shutdown, those employed by the federal government who are not reporting at work and not getting paid can drown their sorrows and pass the time with deals from several Denver restaurants.

At Racines, all federal staffers with a valid id will get 20% off their individual food and beverage tab through the duration of the shutdown. Charcoal says "don't let the government shutdown get you down" and offers all federal employees happy hour drink prices any time every day with a mere flash of that federal government id.

The Big Red F Restaurants, including Jax Lodo and Glendale and Boulder eateries Centro Latin Kitchen, West End Tavern and Zolo Grill, are offering happy hour specials to all federal government employees with the exception of the President and Congress. Every day of the shutdown, starting at 2 p.m. (earlier than regular happy hour), specials will be available to the furloughed workers who possess a valid federal id.
