After more than six years as the chef de cuisine at Denver's Il Posto Restaurant, Lucas Chandler is leaving his post to work on a larger project, which he's not commenting on just yet. In the interim, he's creating a pop-up dinner that will take place in December.
Chandler, who received his agree in culinary nutrition at Johnson & Wales University, has worked at Vista Verde Guest Ranch in Steamboat Springs, Mirepoix in Cherry Creek, and as a personal chef/dietician for Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets during his Olympic gold medal-winning season in 2008.
Lucas joined Il Posto in May of 2007 and created countless dishes for the ever-evolving menu at the 17th Avenue restaurant. He also handled the close relationships with local farmers and producers that the restaurant takes pride in.
Stay tuned on the pop-up details, and for information about Chandler's next project.
