Tim Payne Leaves Row 14 After Four Months; Tyler Nemkov Back in the Kitchen

It was the end of November 2012 when Row 14, the downtown restaurant owned by David Schneider, brought chef Tim Payne on board. Payne was replacing Jensen Cummings who was gearing up to open his own restaurant, the Spotted Spoon. Chef Payne joined Row 14 after he closed his Longmont restaurant Terroir.

As he hired Payne as the third executive chef of a 20 month old restaurant, David Scheider believed that he had the right sensibility for the restaurant and that the collaboration would be long-lasting and mutually beneficial. Only four months later, Payne is in the kitchen at Z Cuisine, happy that he gets to cook with local and seasonal ingredients. No word yet on his replacement at Row 14.

Tyler Nemkov, former writer for Cafe Society and a familiar face in several local kitchens, is back in Denver and back to cooking. Nemkov, a Johnson & Wales graduate, found a home for his cooking skills and passion at the Kitchen in Denver. During the last several months, Nemkov has completed an internship with a well-known PR firm in New York City and several weeks prior to that travelling through Asia. Before he left Colorado, Nemkov worked at Cured and Mateo in Boulder.
