Craft Distilled

WoodyCreek-Harvest.jpgLarry Olmsted criticized many of the country's craft distilleries for poor quality products, but complimented Basalt, Colorado's Woody Creek Distillers for distilling vodka out of potatoes they've grown themselves, in a Forbes article last week. The distillery will release their Reserve Vodka made 100 percent from strobrawa potatoes that they cultivated in collaboration with scientists from the University of Wisconsin and the University of Colorado. All of their special releases are currently sold onsite. [Forbes]
