While donut fanatics from coast to coast bribe their way into sourcing a cronut, the croissant-donut combination that created a cult-like following, Denver can rejoice in the fact that Ian Kleinman of the Inventing Room announced new dates for his pop-up donut shop. Mark your calendars and find your way to Biker Jim's from July 17 to July 20 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The chef, who is also part of the Denver FIVE, will bring his Molecular Coffee and Donut Shop 3.0 to that location and will serve, among others, a Baklava donut made with Colorado honey pastry cream, toasted pistachio, cinnamon sugar baked phyllo and candied rose petals.
Kleinman has another project this summer: he is organizing a summer library program for children. Those kids in attendance will learn how science can make their favorite foods. There are two dates left in June and eleven in July. For a complete schedule and locations, visit the Inventing Room's website. Participants are asked to contact the individual libraries to reserve a spot.
