universalwest.jpgThe Universal, a breakfast and lunch spot in north Denver, let down Westword critic Gretchen Kurtz with its inconsistent grits. Kurtz lamented the lack of a fryer and consequent lack of fried chicken in a Southern food establishment, but gave high praises to the biscuits. The rich and flaky creations can be ordered with sausage gravy or as a side with raspberry jam. [Westword]
