GREENWOOD VILLAGEThe Wooden Table, the upscale Italian eatery, announced that Gary Keller, a 25 year veteran of the hospitality industry and an experienced sommelier, has been named general manager. Keller has served in management positions at several local, fine-dining restaurants, including Cliff Young's, Palace Arms, and Panzano, among others. [Eaterwire]

LODO — The Capital Grille has brought back it's Generous Pour wine event. Now through September 1, for $25 (with the purchase of an entrée ), guests can enjoy limitless pours of one of seven separate world-class wine varietals. Five of the wines, including the Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc and Atalon Cabernet have been rated 90 or above- the other two have not been rated.

NORTH DENVER— On July 31 starting at 6 p.m., Balistreri Vineyards (?1946 E. 66th Avenue) is hosting another installment of the Cooking with Wine event series. Chef Hosea Rosenberg of Blackbelly Catering teaches guests how to create seasonal menus with wine. The class includes a cooking demonstration, take-home recipes, and a family-style dinner with Balistreri wine pairings. Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased online. [Eaterwire]
