Whether it is food or beer, pairing food and beer, or just getting recipes from dozens of well-loved local restaurants, these two upcoming books- Colorado's Top Brewers and Denver and Boulder Chef's Table- should be on the radar of all Denver food and beer aficionados.
Over 26 of Colorado's most successful breweries and their beers, as well as inventive pairings created by 24 of Colorado's most talented chefs, are featured in Colorado's Top Brewers, a book written by Eater's own contributor Emily Hutto. Additional spreads in the book profile 10 of Colorado's most craft beer-centric bars and taverns. While developing the book in collaboration with the Colorado Brewers Guild, Emily traveled the state doing in-depth interviews with brewers and brewery owners alongside photographer Emily Heller.
Featured breweries in the book include Crooked Stave, Dry Dock Brewing Co., Great Divide Brewing Co, and Elevation Beer Co. Among the chefs who contributed recipes and paired their dishes with some of the beers featured are Lon Symensma of ChoLon, Jorel Pierce of Euclid Hall, and Daniel Asher of RootDown and Linger.
The book will hit stores next month, but can be pre-ordered now on Amazon.
Local writer Ruth Tobias took on a different mission. She set out to share recipes from some of the region's most celebrated chefs and restaurants. Her book, Denver & Boulder Chef's Table, gathers in between its covers the cities' culinary talent, featuring nearly 80 recipes for the home cook. Local chef Christopher Cina shows off his food photography skills in this book, making its contents that much more appealing.
What should you expect to find among the featured recipes? Everything from the Bouillabaise at Le Grand Bistro and the Beet Salad from the Squeaky Bean, the Beef Heart Tartare from Colt & Gray, and the Chestnut Soup from Frasca Food and Wine. All recipes have been provided by the restaurants and adjusted for home cooking.
The book is now available on Amazon. Ruth Tobias will also host a release and book-signing party at Trillium. The party will take place on Sunday, August 25 starting and 5 p.m. and will feature signature cocktails & hors d'oeuvres from chef & host Ryan Leinonen. The cost for this event is $40 and reservations can be made at 303.379.9759.
