Upstairs Circus, an Artsy-Crafty Bar, Opening This Fall Next to the Squeaky Bean

This fall, Upstairs Circus will open its doors in LoDo, next door to the Squeaky Bean. The new bar and creative space aims to bring a one-of-a-kind social gathering spot where crafty and artsy types can come together to create various projects. What exactly does that mean? A new generation and version of Sipping & Painting-type venue on an expanded creativity level: more than painting is channelled and more than wine served.

Upstairs Circus is the creation of husband and wife team Matt and Kelly Johannsen. The name refers to the circus that happens up in someone's head, particularly when creativity is involved.

The plan is for Upstairs Circus to provide guests with supplies and tutorials to create various projects from jewelry making to flower arranging and woven-collar creating. The joint will be open Tuesday through Sunday starting at 10 a.m. with closing times varying among the days. There is no firm opening date yet.
