No Ink! Coffee in Former Common Grounds Space

New, 11 comments

Back in early March, it was announced that Ink! Coffee signed a lease for the space that previously housed Common Grounds. The target opening was in July, but July came and went and there is no Ink! Coffee being poured in the Highlands. That will not change any time soon, at least not for the space located at 3484 W. 32nd Avenue. The deal simply fell through.

"We would absolutely LOVE to have a Highlands location," says owner Keith "Herbie" Herbert in an email. "So many of our friends and customers live up that way. Unfortunately, we will not be opening in the Old Common grounds space even though we tried to work it out," he adds.

Make no mistake though, Ink! Coffee continues to expand. Two new locations are in the works: one in a 2,000 square feet space on the first floor of the Century Link Building at 1801 California Street and another in the Cadence Project between Union Station and Riverfront Park on 17 and Wewatta.

There is no word on what will happen with the former Common Grounds space- a "For Lease" sign is posted in the window.
