On Sunday, August 25, the final stage of the U.S. Pro Cycling Challenge comes to Denver for a five lap biking competing around the city. Some of Denver's restaurants plan to celebrate the high-profile race with specials and events.
TAG, located in Larimer Square, is offering a special brunch in honor of the race. The menu features eggs with lamb sausage and ice cold Olympia, korean BBQ Pork belly benedict, TAG meatloaf with eggs and Duck, Duck, Waffle. Call 303.996.9985 for reservations.
Just down the street, on the corner of 15th and Larimer, Tom's Urban 24, is offering $5 New Belgium Brewing beer specials from now until the end of the race. Guests can watch the race on the screens featured in the 24-hour eatery.
In celebration of the return of the race to Denver, Patxi's Pizza is offering a special chef-created pizza combo: "the Fourteener." The signature pie, inspired by avid cyclist and chef Patxi Azpiroz, is a power-and-protein-packed pizza featuring chicken breast, Zoe's Natural Pepperoni, fresh spinach and artichoke hearts. Guests can enjoy the Fourteener at both Denver-area locations for the duration of the race in 10", 12" or 14" Chicago-stuffed pies as well as the $4.75 Slice of the Day.
Ace, the Asian-inspired eatery and ping-pong hall, will open its doors at noon rather than the usual 2 p.m. The restaurant's happy hour menu will be available noon to 2 p.m. There will be live music on the patio from Mikey Jive & The Uptown 5 who will play classic soul tunes from noon to 3 p.m. Patio tables can be reserved by calling the restaurant at 303.800.7705.
Pizzeria Locale Denver will host the Wrap Party for the last stage of the biking race staring at 4:30 p.m. The Neapolitan pie shop promises a VIP dinner with the Champion System Pro Cycling Team. The casual restaurant will also be open for lunch, a convenient option for those watching the action only three blocks away where the race takes place.
