There's a new java joint on 6th Avenue, a new location of Novo Coffee. The Denver-based coffee roaster opened the door to its second coffee shop at 1700 E. 6th Avenue yesterday and plans on being open daily from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. (the hours may change).

The 1800 square foot space with seating for 46 guests was designed with assistance from Open Studio and graphics by Rick Griffith. This is the same team used by Novo at its first location at 1600 Glenarm Street, which opened earlier this year.

The feel of the space is similar- modern design accents, high ceilings, dark wood flooring and even darker furniture, and just a splash of red on the chairs and green on the espresso maker to liven up the interior. There is free internet and some electrical outlets, but laptop camping is not particularly encouraged.

Novo will serve a variety of coffees brewed from its beans and pastries from Sugar Bakeshop and Fuel Café. Later this fall, after completing the liquor license process, Novo anticipates serving wine and beer as well.
