River North Brewery just released the first in a series of new barrel-aged brews, kicking off a fall season full of special releases. The first of these brews, the Rum Barrel Quandary, is a blend of both un-aged and rum barrel-aged versions of their quadrupel ale. The result melds the maltiness of a Belgian dark ale with the sweet sharpness of rum and oak. The beer will make its debut at a release party at the brewery on September 28. [Eaterwire]
