Starting today and through Thursday, Basta, the Boulder restaurant and pizzeria located at 3601 Arapahoe Avenue, will be closed for a remodel. The restaurant will reopen with normal business hours on Friday at lunch.
The most visible change inside the space will be new tables from the Rocky Mountain Table Company in the Sante Fe Art district. The tables, made from reclaimed oak, are handbuilt by Colorado makers with whom the Basta owners have a close relationship. There will also be new paint and other details changed in the interior like wall hangings and light fixtures.
It isn't just the space getting an upgrade, the menu is changing too. There will be no more unsharable entrées. The chefs at Basta have been working on a new chicken recipe for two months. The whole staff calls it winner winner chicken dinner. Fittingly, it will be listed on the menu as chicken dinner, six pieces wood-roasted chicken with cooked-to-order scratch biscuits.
What else is in store for the future at Basta? By next spring, the patio will be significantly improved. All awnings and signs will be changed and the restaurant will build window by the bar that will include outside bar seating.
