September Beer Calendar: From Boulder Beer Rave to the Oyster & Stout Fest

The Denver beer scene experiences a small lull in the fall as it prepares itself for the the Great American Beer Festival in October. In a beer state like Colorado, however, even a slower season means the calendar is still chalk-full of festivals. Here's what's happening this month.


This weekend, the Vail Cascade Resort will put on Sip, Savor & Brew on Gore Creek: A Culinary and Craft Beer Experience. This brewmaster's weekend that allows guests to meet the brewers at Bootstrap Brewing Co., Denver Beer Co., and West Flanders Brewing Co., and attend various seminars about food and beer pairing.

Boulder Beer celebrates its 34th anniversary this year with tastings of rare beers from more than 30 Colorado breweries and live music at this event benefitting the Colorado Brewer's Guild and Boulder B-Cycle.

New Belgium's epic bike parade is back in Denver with a festival featuring live music and samples of the brewery's flagship beers, as well as their Lips of Faith rare beer series.

The 16th annual Brew at the Zoo fundraiser will pour beer from more than 40 Colorado breweries and serve food from 20 local restaurants. The event will benefit the zoo's educational programs.

Perhaps one of the most scenic and intimate music festivals in the country, the 20th annual Telluride Blues & Brews festival will offer live blues, funk, jam band, rock, gospel and soul performances, and craft beer from all over the country, with a wide variety of food and craft vendors, children's activities, late night shows, and much more.
