Buzzing: Lower 48's Service Bar Is a Gem That Won't Be Hidden For Long

When Lower 48 opened in the Ballpark neighborhood in early December, guests flocked the new digs and reviewers were quick to compliment the ambiance, the food, and the excellent service. "Lower 48 enters the Denver dining scene with a top lineup as Mario Nocifera and Chef Alex Figura partner to open this contemporary restaurant," Gabby Gourmet said in a review. It goes on to compliment the restaurant's affordable small plates, "amazing desserts," and thoughtful wine list.

After a month of good reviews and neighborhood buzz, Lower 48 quietly opened its intimate, 30-seat lounge, Service Bar in the attached space next door to the restaurant. Once again, the critics raved.
Service Bar's fridge sports a craft beer selection with rare, large format bottles from Colorado, Oregon, New York, Belgium, and Scotland that can't be found elsewhere in Denver. It also has white, red, and sparkling wine, as well as Boxcar Coffee. Guests can order the full Lower 48 menu from Service Bar, too. Check out Eater's Lower 48 menu preview here.

Service Bar is a great place to take in a game, offering a full sports package, and an escape from rowdy crowds and greasy finger food often associated with Monday Night Madness. Reservations of eight or more made in advance get channel-choosing privileges for Service's Bar's 60-inch TV.

Service Bar's focal point is its TV, however there are tables and corners tucked throughout the cool-toned space where guests can easily post up and enjoy Service Bar and Lower 48's menu selections, sans sports bar background noise.

"It's a worthwhile place to stop for a pre-dinner cocktail before stepping next door to Lower 48 for the full culinary monty," said the Denver Post about Service Bar.

Cafe Society called Service Bar "a real Christmas gift to diners."

Visit Denver chimed in too: "Comfortable communal couches and a 60 screen TV make for a relaxing evening. Service Bar is a perfect room for sporting events, bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthday celebrations, and business gatherings."

Service Bar is open Monday through Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
